Sinner hits with Kouame, 17, in Monte-Carlo
Moise Kouame’s had a month to remember. The 17-year-old Frenchman earned his maiden ATP Masters 1000 win in Miami in March and then made his Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters debut this week, falling to Ugo Humbert.
On Wednesday, the teenager enjoyed another highlight when he practised with Jannik Sinner at the Monte-Carlo Country Club. The pair rallied for 90 minutes in an intense but relaxed session, exchanging smiles and laughter in a valuable learning experience for the rising Frenchman.
Currently No. 334 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Kouame is the youngest player inside the Top 800. His rapid ascent has not gone unnoticed. The 17-year-old is mentored by Richard Gasquet and even received a congratulatory message from Novak Djokovic following his Miami breakthrough.

Kouame’s ‘goal is World No. 1’, but first up: Miami debut
Sinner is aiming to return to World No. 1 this week and will next meet Tomas Machac in Monte-Carlo. The Italian has not dropped a set at an ATP Masters 1000 event since Shanghai last October, winning titles in Paris, Indian Wells and Miami since. The 24-year-old’s best result in Monte-Carlo was semi-final showings in 2023 and 2024.
Kouame’s journey mirrors that of Sinner in one notable way. Like Kouame, Sinner claimed his first ATP Tour victory aged 17, with Sinner's triumph coming in Budapest in 2019.
