Hurkacz wins Cancun Challenger

It is time tennis fans start getting used to the name Jan Kumstat. The 19-year-old Czech has claimed three consecutive ATP Challenger titles, etching his name in the record books alongside elite company.

Kumstat, who on Saturday won on home soil in Prague, is the third teenager in ATP Challenger history to win three consecutive titles, joining Guillermo Coria (2000) and Grigor Dimitrov (2010). Both Coria and Dimitrov ascended to the Top 5 of the PIF ATP Rankings throughout their careers.

Kumstat won last month’s Liberec Challenger and after a week off, he returned to the winner’s circle in Hamburg, followed by his triumph at the Sekyra Group Prague Open 2026 by Advantage Cars. The teenager downed Chun-Hsin Tseng 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 in the final.

Across the past two weeks, Kumstat has catapulted eight spots to fifth in the PIF ATP Live Next Gen Race, behind Rafael Jodar, Joao Fonseca, Martin Landaluce and Joel Schwaerzler. The 2007-born Kumstat is aiming for his first trip to the 20-and-under Next Gen ATP finals.

The Prostejov native is the third Czech teen to win three ATP Challenger titles, joining Tomas Berdych and Michal Tabara.

Former No. 6 Hurkacz wins biggest title in more than two years
Hubert Hurkacz won the Cancun Country Open in Mexico, his biggest triumph since winning the ATP 250 in Estoril in 2024. The Pole, who has climbed as high as No. 6 in the PIF ATP Rankings, overcame top seed and former Top-20 player Sebastian Baez 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 in the final.

Van Assche continues memorable season
Frenchman Luca Van Assche added to his 2026 title haul, which includes his maiden ATP Tour trophy in Estoril last month. The 22-year-old won the Challenger Banque Nationale Quebec, where he beat Stefanos Sakellaridis 6-1, 6-4 in the championship match.

Van Assche, at a career-high No. 40 in the PIF ATP Rankings, has won four Challenger titles this year: Quimper, Lille, Parma and Quebec City.

Stricker wins first Challenger title since 2023
Dominic Stricker earned his sixth Challenger crown and first since May 2023 with his victory at the Axa Open de Sion. The Swiss lefty rallied past Benjamin Hassan 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 in the final to secure the victory on home soil. Stricker competed at the 2023 Next Gen ATP Finals and reached a career-high No. 88 that year, but missed an extended period of time in 2024 due to a severe back injury. Stricker is now back inside the Top 300.

Tarvet, who last year faced Alcaraz at Wimbledon, earns first Challenger trophy
Oliver Tarvet earned a milestone victory as a wild card at the Lexus Roehampton Challenger 1. The 22-year-old Briton lifted his maiden Challenger title after needing a deciding set in three of his matches. Tarvet downed Lucas Poullain 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Last year, the University of San Diego standout advanced through Wimbledon qualifying and faced Carlos Alcaraz in the second round. Tarvet again qualified for the Wimbledon main draw this year, but fell in his opener.

Royer wins in Jamaica
Competing as the top seed at the Kingston Open 1 in Jamaica, Valentin Royer left with the trophy in his hands. The 25-year-old defeated Pedro Martinez 6-4, 6-2 in the title match to collect his fourth Challenger trophy and first of the season.
