Carlos Alcaraz will compete in Milan for the first time at the innovative 21-and-under tournament.

The Spaniard became the youngest US Open quarter-finalist in the Open Era (since April 1968) after an inspired run that included a third-round upset of Stefanos Tsitsipas, who triumphed at the Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals in 2018. The protégé of former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, captured his first ATP Tour title in at the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag (d. Gasquet) in July 2021 and also reached semi-finals at the Marbella Championships, Winston-Salem Open and Erste Bank Open in Vienna.
