This is the second edition of the e-sports tennis circuit

The second edition of the Tennis World Tour 2 tournament, Next Gen ATP E Series 2022 — organised by Mkers, ATP and the Italian Tennis Federation — will begin on 24 July.

The event aims to reach more than 5 million users with amplification efforts from publishing and media partners. The 2021 edition, with nearly 500,000 views during the live streaming of matches, demonstrated the value and high visibility of virtual tennis. The 2022 edition will also be open to international players.

With Intesa Sanpaolo serving as main sponsor, the tournament will see 128 players compete in virtual tennis matches across multiple stages. Each “qualifier” will receive an overall ranking, and only the eight best players will claim a spot in the live event to be held in Milan during this year’s Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals, where the winner of the competition will be decided.

On the Intesa Sanpaolo Reward app, it will be possible to enter a competition to win a wild card into the event directly from the second round, thus guaranteeing a victory in the first round and a safe entry with points in the overall rankings.

"After the success of last year's edition," said Paolo Cisaria, Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors of Mkers, "we once again have the opportunity to collaborate with Intesa Sanpaolo, ATP, and FIT to tell a side of the language and communication related to the world of gaming that is of particular interest to the new generations. The goal will be to engage the fanbase of gaming and sports enthusiasts but also to build quality digital content that can respect the values and importance of the brands we collaborate with.”

"The world of eSports engages a growing fan and spectator base, spans multiple generations, and is increasingly characterised by innovation, enthusiasm and passion. We are proud to support the Next Gen ATP E Series 2022 Tournament for the second year,” said Claudia Vassena, Head of Sales & Marketing Digital Retail at Intesa Sanpaolo. “In particular, it is essential for Intesa Sanpaolo to approach young people in contexts that are familiar to them in order to find a common language and support them when they want to finance their studies, buy their first home or look for training opportunities to enter the world of work."
