Frances Tiafoe is beginning to make his move. Having started the year at No. 108 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, the American is now at No. 68 and in contention to fulfill his goal, to consistently play at ATP World Tour events.
With improved movement, adding to a devastating power-based game, the naturally talented 19 year old recently secured back-to-back ATP Challenger Tour titles at the 2017 Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open (d. Sandgren) and at Aix en Provence (d. Chardy).
The fourth ATP Challenger Tour title of his career, which was won on French soil, saw Tiafoe move up from No. 7 to No. 3 in the Emirates ATP Race To Milan for the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals from 7-11 November.
With eight tour-level singles matches to his name this year, Tiafoe continues to learn valuable lessons and build up his experience. Last month, on the doubles court, he finished runner-up with Dustin Brown in the Fayez Sarofim & Co. US Men's Clay Court Championship (l. to Peralta-Zeballos).
With few Emirates ATP Rankings points to defend this summer, in grass and hard-court tournaments, Tiafoe will be hoping to rise further up the professional tennis ladder.
